What hardware is required to connect to the Internet?
As I'm sure most of you will be, I am bringing a laptop to Manchester University. I am wondering what hardware I need to connect to the Internet, as I've been told we're not allowed wireless connections in the halls. I'm staying in Grovesnor Place, if that makes any difference.

it depends how the internet is presented to your accomodation ?
you might only need a ethernet cable ...

Yup, usually an Ethernet port next to your desk.
Don't worry about having your own cable as they are usually included in the Freshers pack they put in your room.
