Are DVD-RAM discs playable and recordable on most dvd recorders? (for example this one http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.204-8063.aspx) Because I've noticed there are different formats, and not all dvd recorders are compatiable with them.

I've also just found out about dual layer dvds which can record 8.5gb, but apparently it may cause a pause in between the footage, how noticeable is thisdo you think?

That model is compatible with DVD-RAM disks. No idea on dual layer DVDs but as they're write once, if it doesn't record properly then you've wasted a disk. If you want specialist advice AV Forums are decent.

by the way, do those 9.6gb dvd ram discs record contiunously? like, would there be a slight pause in between the footage as i play it, or would i have to take it out half-way through the recording and flip the disc (because apparently they are double sided)
