They have better health care than America...
They were more repressed under Spanish rule.
I'm not sure 'superpowers' going in there is the best idea.

when the west invade cuba it really is time for a revolution at home. we had no business meddling in the mid east and we have even less to piss around in cuba.

Cuba has a higher literacy rate and life expectancy than the USA...

If you believe the cuban government's numbers.
HA!

Those weak capitalist states will never have the balls to tackle the might that is Cuba!
So the answer to the OP is never!

Sorry fellas.

And they are reporting the statistics that were given to them by the cuban government. They didn't do their own research.

America are still bitter that their puppet Cuban government got overthrown, and that when they tried to overthrow the new regime (surely not legal?) they got beat in front of the whole world, and then after the Cuban Missile Crisis had to promise not to invade again. The poverty in Cuba is not, as they would like us to believe, due to communism (which is the case in the DRK) but primarily due to the US embargo that they still refuse to lift two decades after the Cold War! They're not repressive like Korea or China (well, maybe a little) and there is literally no reason to maintain the embargo for any reasons other than spite.
Why is the U.S. always trying to free countries that don't care to be freed by them?

It's not really "America" that is refusing to lift the embargo.

There is a very large cuban community in south florida and they have a very powerful lobby. They insist on the embargo because they are angry exiles who want revenge against castro and they are a very powerful voting block. After 50 years I think the embargo is not working, but our politicians are too terrified to even think about lifting it.

Viva Fidel!
Viva Cuba!

The only problem is the US embargo on Cuba!

Libya=oil
cuba=no oil

Pretty much just like Iraq and Afghanistan !
If the Americans invade Cuba, I'll eat a tube of toothpaste.

And England? What the hell is that?

I'm assuming you mean the United Kingdom; we won't invade because Cuba has literally nothing to do with us.

England. You know, by far the most important part of the 'United Kingdom'.

I would far rather that our resources were invested in liberating the Cuban people rather than wasting our time with Libya etc.
But Libya was a socialist nation too. :s-smilie:
No, Cuban rum production would be impeded. Tasty, tasty rum.

Leave other nations alone you interventionist ****s lol.

But serious message there. Stop already.
I think its about time America traded with Cuba again. The cold war is over and we need to move on.

Cuba is also showing signs of moving in the right direction. The number of self employed is growing and people are now allowed to privately buy and sell their own houses.

The American people don't want to trade with Cuba. Who are we to deny their wishes?

Recent U.S. polling indicates that the American public is slightly in favor of continuing the embargo, and in favor of normalizing diplomatic relations as well. For instance, a 2007 AP/Ipsos Poll indicates that 48% of Americans favor continuing the embargo, against 40% who favor ending it. Interestingly the same poll revealed that despite overwhelmingly unfavorable opinions of Fidel Castro (6% favorable vs. 64% unfavorable), Americans believe that diplomatic relations "should" be re-established with Cuba. (61% in favor, 31% opposed).[48]
I though cubans like their country and leadership.................. oh wait scarface lol.

Never said it was. But England is 85% of the UK. There is no other comparable example of this. Wale, Northern Ireland and Scotland are not 3/4 of the UK, they are 15%. If there was a referendum to rename the UK England and rename the UK nationality 'English', there's no reason why it wouldn't pass, just like the various regions of Scotland who are anti-Independent would have to become independent because of the urban areas.

Geographically, England is about 60% of the UK. Culturally, it is 85%.

not the point. The thing about comparisons is you rarely get two things the same. When comparing countries, it is never the same.

He mentioned a single state within the UK and I turned the tables and mentioned a few single states in the USA.

Are you actually serious? Do you actually think the even English people would want their historic bordered rendered invisible and a bunch of people, some of which detest England to get their 'English blood' all muddy? ha, don't be ridiculous. A large number of people in England would sooner vote for the UK to be dissolved than to rename the UK England and call everyone in it English.

Anyway, I don't see why you are even arguing with me here. You had no arguement to make to begin with, you just feel like knit picking.

You say that England is not a state within the UK, so what is it then? Is it it's own country, a city, what?

I was simply pointing how this troll was incorrect, why the hell can you even be bothered to argue over something so stupid. I mean honestly, go back and look at your first comment, lol. I would only be correct if I said a state that is 85% of the USA, hahahaha, wtf do you sound like ha. Who gives a ****.

The UK = Not England.

That is the point I made, I am not wrong about that, so you cannot argue otherwise you idiot.

In an effort to increase the quality of life of their citizens after years of oppression. It is still one of the least free countries in the world, with a shambolic human rights record. I would far rather that our resources were invested in liberating the Cuban people rather than wasting our time with Libya etc.

What are your thoughts?

Cubans enjoy a rather excellent standard of living for their GDP. I hope your are just doing this for a laugh because you sound like a "simple jack" type of person (wink, wink).
