I'm going. I've only got the letter they sent at first though.

10:30-3:30: Tours of the campus and student accomodation from the Avon Room
1-2: Lunch
2-2:45: Introduction to the English course in Lecture Room 6, Arts Building
3:45- 3:15: Small group meetings for applicants with individual members of the English Department staff
3:15- 4: Final tours of the campus

So I don't think we actually HAVE to be there until two, depending on whether you want a campus tour before or after lunch. I think I might explore Birmingham first and get a campus tour later on. Unless there's anywhere good to kill an hour on campus?

i find the desks/seating in lecture room 6 a bit upsetting. nothing too troublesome, but it's a bit ergonomically strange. the desks are slightly too far forward and the seats are quite uncomfortable to lean back in, so you end up being all hunched over the desk in front. i find.
There's no way of slumping in it :frown:

Was a good open day though- I liked the idea of seminars, mainly because the lecturer we had was lovely.

Best seats are in the lecture theatre in Chemical Engineering, has some great snoozing time in there. Those fold down seats are terrible, can't even lie down!

Yeh. When I went in January, the woman (she was the head of department I think) seemed nice. I also liked the seminars in the tutors' rooms, though the man I had- don't know who he was, does language though- was quite eccentric and had a disconcertingly high pitched laugh.

Oooh the lady with brown hair and the blue top? Yes she was! I was there! What do you look like, maybe we met each other? I was one of the ones at the end who apparantly "didn't get my reply in in time" even though i did  :p: lol.

They do normally, they just didn't for the open day- they spent longer speaking to us as a group as a whole, instead. I can't remember the lecturer's sir-name, but her first name was Osaka I think. She specialised in the romantic period if that helps...

CrispyDuck- Nope, not the same group, though that would have been weird/cool!
