Can somebody please explain why the answer to this question is 'b'.

Since the lift starts at 0ms_1, it has to accelerate to start moving. Since it is moving upwards, this acceleration is positive. Once it reaches it's speed, the acceleration goes to 0 as it is moving at constant velocity. When it's about to reach the desired floor, it has to decelerate. This acceleration is negative. Once it has hit 0ms^-1, the stops decelerating and remains at rest.

Hope this helps =]

Light gates even

Oh light gates. They come up in mechanics. Usually for experiments as they are more accurate since people can have different reaction times so using a stopwatch can be inaccurate.

I'm gonna go to bed so good luck everyone =]

Raheem ur retaking this exam?

Yes, got 98/120 in jan, will try to do better this time.
as i revised the past year questions
i realised they kept making questions on the application of eddies due to turbulent flow
can anybody list down the effects of eddies on a moving object?
thank you =)
what would your answer be for this question *picture below*

given that weight is 638 newton

isnt the equation:
W= Tsin 40
T= W divide sin40
right?

basically all that turbulent flow does to a moving object is slow it down.
