Predictions?
Hey fellow Psychology Students!

Recently, I've been looking at ways to expand on the success of the weekly Study Together sessions we’re running every Tuesday evenings (https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7443741) and one idea we’ve had is to run similar sessions for students studying Psychology .

The idea would be to have weekly sessions lasting an hour where you can come online and revise Psychology with other students. It feels like it could be a great way to build confidence with the content, as well as being a fun and sociable way to get some studying done.

Please let me know if this is something you would be interested in! If so, please comment on this post!

Predictions?

I have this feeling a key question will come up, I really hope it isn't the biological key question...
Does anyone have any predictions on what they think the issues and debates questions will be??

I was thinking learning key q might come up too or biological key question or you never know they might just do both in the issues and debates section asking about evaluate the extent to which you can use biological psych and learning for knowledge in society (which basically gets you to talk about the key questions)

for learning, the key question is how anorexia is caused by social media so (you can copy this format for anything so)

AO1: symptoms, features of anorexia (basically describing the key question)
AO2: how can learning/or any approach explain this so

ao1: anorexia is a condition that is ____ (explain)
list some symptoms (body dysmorphia, etc)
throw in some stats for ex like it’s common to start developing in 10 yr olds
then for ao2 pick things out of learning psych that can explain how anorexia is caused, so
operant conditioning : person may be rewarded via compliments for ex a family member complimenting them when they look “skinny” or at a low weight (this is positive reinforcement, u can also define it) Then explain how this will cause behaviour to be more likely to happen again (the person will want to stay “skinny”)
social learning theory: role models in social media, for ex size 0 models are the same gender (hence why anorexia is more prevelant in females), they are older and have a higher status in society, then explain using ARRM (attention, retention, motivation, reproduction). These young girls will have low self esteem so they will want to reproduce size 0 model behaviour (being skinny)
you can also incorproate vicarious reinforcement (size 0 models are rewarded)

for the bio key question, there has been a question on the paper before (sorry idk which one :frown:) so you can look at the indicator content there and basically follow the same structure

edit: you can include research in ao2 (ex. bandura for slt)
edit: this is 8 mark plan btw

for paper 1, I can't remember it that well but i think there was only an interview question in paper 2 2023 the clinical section. for paper 1, there was an 8 marker on agency theory, schema theory, phobias and for the biological section it was i think hormones i dont really remember. issues and debates there was question on animal ethics .
