hey guys what did u write fr the last 2 questions of how the time will be affected, i said that both will decrease because less emf induced, so less opposition

That's what I put too, but only the magnetic one is reduced and the other stays the same. I recon I got 2/6 for that question.

Now... Which one of you beautiful people got 38s for double pendulum MC question??

I did!! But I guessed it.

And bloody hell, that was a difficult paper.

Me! And I'm fairly sure its right, I really really liked this M/C

Yeah, I found the M/C surprisingly nice, it was Section B that caught me out but everybody else seemed to find the M/C difficult

P stays the same, Q decreases.
p wasn't magnetic.

I'm glad we agree!

How did you arrive at 38s?
That was a train wreck from start to finish.

it was magnetic, but q was a stronger magnet, ive got the question paper next to me

Why would you have the paper next to you?
And are you sure, don't remember them mentioning P's magnetism at all.
Here is the A* Boundary out of 75 for an A* the past 5 exams:

Jun 10: 54
Jan 11: 56
Jun 11: 56
Jan 12: 57
Jun 12: 57

Notice that the grade boundary is going up, despite the papers getting harder. BLOODY MICHAEL GOVE.
I recon we can expect the grade boundary to be 58 or 59.

Nowhere did it say that p was magnetic?

Aluminium is not magnetic.
Is it likely that an unofficial markscheme is going to be made?...

It didn't say it. Aluminiium is not a magnetic metal.

scan in the paper and post it on here?...you will be loved and probably get like 1000 rep from people? xD
Didn't find it that hard but now everyone's saying it was a nightmare I feel like I got everything wrong...

lol they give us it after exam, in the question it says that q is a stronger maget, which implies that p is magnetic but weaker.
People! For the one where you had to work out the height of the satellite above the surface of the Earth, what answers did you get?

I did it like this:

Found out constant of proportionality using r and T of low polar orbit
Then used that k to find out r^3/2, with T obviously being 60*60*24.
Found out r by doing the cube root of the square of k*T
Then took away the radius of the Earth to find the final height.

But I just can't remember what this value was!

I kind of cocked up, but did not cock up the first question on section B.... I did not use the mass of a neutron/ proton and just went off the ratio of how many protons and neutrons combined that the alpha particle and CE nucles actually had... It still got me a 3% value and a velocity which I can't remember off the top of my head.
