Do medical schools do individual class-rankings or are you just ranked by deciles?

Is it possible to find out where in the class you ranked or are you just told which decile you were in? Does your class ranking hold any substantial weighting, if any?

Here most of our grades are given out in a public, though anonymised, way, so you can tell roughly where in the year you are. It doesn't mean anything though.

When we talk about deciles, its because that's what FY1 applications look at, not because the med school is necessarily interested. We only found out deciles when we entered info into the FPAS website.
We were told our individual ranking at the end of third year, and our decile at the start of fifth year. I needed individual ranking for applying to intercalate externally, and decile was for FPAS. Otherwise for each exam we get a graph showing frequency of each score, so you can work out roughly where you stand.

If you come top or near top of the year there are monetary awards for certain modules.
