Q2 - Q1 = 6
Q3 - Q2 < Q2 - Q1 means the data is negatively skewed right? the mark scheme says the correct answer is the data has a positive skew. why?

Are you sure you have quoted the correct values for Q1, Q2 and Q3? Because the condition you defined above for a negative skew is correct.
