2017 entry: BRISTOL vs. EDINBURGH

Hi there,

I'm having a lot of trouble deciding whether to put the University of Bristol or the University of Edinburgh as my firm choice. Both offers are to do Mathematics, and both A*A*A.

I have no preference for the course at each uni, I like both. What I really want to know about is the night life and social scene at both the universities. I'm from London and like going out but not bothered about clubbing necessarily. WHAT ARE THE PEOPLE LIKE AT EDINBURGH AND BRISTOL? WHAT IS AN AVERAGE NIGHT OUT LIKE? DO THE 'POSH' PEOPLE INTEGRATE WITH OTHERS?

The other thing is I have applied for second year entry at Edinburgh, which is why my offer is A*A*A (which I can do as I do Further Maths) as opposed to the normal offer of A*AA. Does anyone know if this will make it harder and prevent me from making friends on my course, as most people will have already been there for a year.

Also, does anyone know if Edinburgh will accept you into the first year if you miss the double A* second year entry grades?

Thank you
