Useless degree?

I've applied to do English lit and philosophy at Edinburgh, but I've read multiple threads/articles saying they are some of the lowest paying degrees and that they don't lead to good employment prospects. Sadly I haven't done any science/maths A levels, and I don't enjoy the subjects very much anyway, so I couldn't do a STEM degree. Are there any other 'creative', non mathematical degrees that would maybe lead to better employment opportunities?
English Lit and Philisophy are fine subjects. Humanities degrees are actually pretty good for employment when you widen the field a little bit. Sure, if you go into standard 'English Degree Professions' like teaching or Journalism you might struggle, but if you're willing to be flexible and creative after uni you can go into a LOT of fields that don't require a specialist degree and are well paid, like advertising, marketing, recruitment, sales.

E.G- My degree was in English with Creative Writing and I now work in Editorial for a major STEM publisher. It can be done!
I've just completed an English Language and Literature degree- and I did it for me, because it's something I love. I've been to uni twice before, was pushed into it by my mum and I absolutely hated it as I was just pushed into going to uni even though my grades were lousy so I just had to do whatever would accept me which turned out to be a mistake as I wasn't interested in it.
I start a Masters in English in the autumn which hopefully will be followed by a PhD in the same subject field. I would then like to go on to lecture. My marks for my undergrad degree have been on average double what they were previously- I used to struggle to scrape a pass previously but my average mark has been between 70-80 this time- because I was doing something I loved and was good at. I would say do what makes you happy- I wish I had done that 18 years ago!!!!!
