2)a=1/16
3) a2 = 2k
a3 = k+1/2
k=17/6
4) d=6
10316 total
5) x=3 and x=-1
6) (x-4)^2+3
Minimum point at (4,3) intercept at (0,19)
PQ : 4sqrt(17) units
7)
8) 5x-4y-49=0
Area = 369/10
9) line theough (0,C)
Asymptote at y= 5
equate and disciminant greater than 0
c<5-2sqrt(3) and c> 5+sqrt(3)
10) k = 75
c = 5/2
just differentiate
x = -5/3

Does anyone know how many marks question 3 was worth?
I only answered the first half of the paper, is there anything I can do to retake?
Doesn't anyone know what question 7 was???

Did anyone get -88 as C in one of the questions?
Praying for lower grade boundaries.... :shot::crossedf:
What actually happens with a re-sit? What goes on your record? What affect does it have on UMS? (if any) Amatuer hour over here.

Can anyone just explain the situation of a re-sit.
Just wanted to check. for the bicycles question i got 10316 but i was thinking...
Surely doing S12 and then adding (52-12)*206 would mean you're counting the 12th value twice? Hopefully this isn't the case but someone please let me know.

Also for the first part of the are of the triangle question, did anyone get x=-3/2 and x=49/5 for the coordinates of intersection???
This questions in this test were harder than last year, but after doing year 13 and with more preparation I did better.

Doesnt go on your record, they just take your best mark so theres no harm in resitting.

Absolutely nothing on there that hasn't come up in a past paper before or was really easy

You mean '...has come up...' and June 2008, exactly same principle question as the area of the triangle SQT; just different co-ordinates and therefore values.

People who did good know how difficult the exam was, people who found it easy are the ones who mis the questions thinking they did amazing. So, it's most likely this year was your worst paper attempt in these 3 years mate. 🙃😉

So true...

Can someone tell me how u get 1/16 in question 2? Cz i got 1/16 root 2
(edited 6 years ago)
I got 1/8 for question 2
Original post by illuminatedroses
Nope. 90% sure the answer was 1/16 root 2 with a=1/16

Do you think I lost an A1 mark for only stating 1/16 root 2 and not a=1/16? Kicking myself rn

1/16 sqrt2 is correct. The 'a' in asqrt2 is 1/16. I don't think you had to state what a is though.
