Idk the answer to your question but I do know in 2009 125 bills were signed into law and only 57 where signed into law in 2013. So that shows partisanship as GOP took over Congress.

According to wikipedia (which seems legit) in the 113th Congress 296 Acts were created although, uh I have no idea how many were signed into law.
I do think if Congress passed 296 Acts, more than 57 would have been signed in by the president?!

Perhaps this could be worth reading:

Well 57 is what my teacher said (I know it does seem small). I think 296 acts were enacted but not all where signed into law.
This website says 57:

Thanks for the source.
Now I'm curious to know what happened then to the rest (296-57) 239 passed by Congress.
According to: https://www.thoughtco.com/barack-obama-vetoes-3368126 Obama only vetoed 4 bills overall.
According to wikipedia Obama vetoed 12 bills overall. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_presidential_vetoes and https://www.senate.gov/reference/Legislation/Vetoes/vetoCounts.htm also says 12

Do you reckon most of them just went into law after 10 days (as Obama just didn't want to sign them?)
If so then since Congress (both the Senate and House) approved stuff and just the President didn't I would think the partisanship argument is made weaker
They still went into law... just 10 days later

Yes, I completely understand what you're saying but on the sheet my teacher gave us, it just says it shows the impact of partisanship. So I guess it just shows that Obama was so partisan that he didn't sign it into law and I guess he thought Congress would just override his veto if he tried to use it on a bill. - that's my guess
Anyone know if Trump is being investigated by congress as well as the fbi for Russia and firing Comey, Just wondering incase we get a question on whos more power house or senate etc

I know congress is definitely looking into Russia and Trump because my teacher was really hoping McCain could find something on Trump so he could be impeached. I don't know the fine details though.
Guys really sorry for bumping for thread, but basically for A2 I will be doing American politics Edexcel.

For EPQ we can't do anything relating to what we study, but I was thinking of doing part of my epq on the American Revolution. Would this be okay or not? Because the reveloution influences American Political principles such as separation of powers and the constitution?

Don't think that question will come up.
Came up in 2016 xD
Trump is being investigated by Congress but in the committees yeah. Don't know the exact results as it happens behind the scenes.

My predictions for unit 4c 15 markers btw: https://aleveluspolitics.co.uk/2017/06/200617-unit-4c-edexcel-15-mark-question-predictions/

Yh that would be fine. We don't study the American Civil war and there is a small overlap but only in one topic- Constitution I think as that's the only topic where the history of the US matters a bit! DW don't think they care about the clash anyway... I had a friend do epq on the EU when he did politics and economics (where the EU comes up in both) and I did an epq on an economics question (I do economics) where I analyzed using like Aggregate Demand and Long run aggregate supply (which comes up in a level economics) but the examiners obviously didn't mind as we got our results fine

Btw I meant the Revolution not the Civil War, I am just worried that I may not be able to do it xD

I think the hearing for Comey and Sessions was in the Senate Judiciary committee.

Yeah I think so too

Also, Trump's lawyer has insisted Trump is not under investigation (but could chuck it into essay by saying there is speculation around this issue)
What do we think about there many being a 15 marker on how effectively the branches check each other? Doesn't seem to have come up since 2010

Lol from this tweet looks like Trump has admitted he's under investigation.

But who knows.

Wouldve just thought the 45 marker wouldve been someone aimed at obamas presidency...
What did people think of today? I thought the 15 Markers were a bit weird, but liked the 45 marker options

I agree. A lot of the 15 mark questions were quite specific.
Those 15 markers...
