Firstly welcome to the University. I understand from your other posts you intend to study Law?
The Law building on De Havilland is lovely. I've always been envious of the guys/gals studying there! It even has it's own little cafe inside.
I've always found the general vibe of the uni to be really positive. Most people have been friendly and pretty out-going. It's always good to join a society and attend all the freshers events to get to meeting people nice and early!
Social life wise. That's often what you make of it. There are quite a few opportunities to socialise in many different forms; from the usual going out clubbing/drinking, to sports, clubs, societies and cultural activities.
Tips wise mine would be:
Talk to everyone and be friendly!
Go to the Freshers Fair/Events.
Give yourself plenty of time for work, so you can relax in between.
Pack plenty of supplies.
Avoid Aldi on a Friday!
