Gcse geography

For my gcse geography alternative to coursework,I plotted a graph with a single cross with a black pen and when I recently checked the examiner report it said that you could use either a dark colored pen or pencil.thoughts?

A black pen likely meets the dark coloured pen criteria, so that's okay. However, generally for graphs I think pencil is the safest option
