Would Imperial be happy with these results?

I just got my gcse results and I got a

8- in English language and literature
A*- French
6- in Maths ( but I might re take this autumn)
A- History, Business Studies, Science (additional science)
B-Core Science
D- in P.E.. but they won't hopefully look at that?

I want to take Biochemistry with a year in Management as well + industry

So will this help me or should I not even bother?

I've always thought a-level results were more important, you haven't done that bad either. Isn't a 6 = B?

Yes a 6 is a high B
But apparently like more than a average B

Personally don't think you should resit then. I presume you got into college/SF of your choice doing what you wanna do, so focus on that.
OMG you should be really happy with these results. Well done

Imperial is very competitive and they want high grades across STEM subjects.

Their typical offer is AAA - AAA* and they want

A in Chemistry

A in Biology, Physics or Mathematics

Are you going to be taking those subjects at A-level?

So are my grades good enough?
Because I shall be taking

Biology
Chemistry
Business
Maths

And I will aim for their grade requirements
But what I have at gcse, should I keep trying for imperial?

Listen, forget about GCSE and look forward to A-levels. I did terrible for GCSE but now I'm ready to kill my A-levels. Universities want to see how you progressed not where you started.

Thank you so much!
I'm excited for a levels as well! But I just really want to know if I'm heading in the right direction or not

Your grades are fine. Your A-levels are the important part, don't be discouraged about your GCSEs because they won't really matter in the grand scheme of things. Look forward and focus on doing well in year 12 from now on.

Your subjects are fine too, but if I were you I'd take something less 'soft' than Business Studies, i.e. look to sciences/languages/history/maths/literature

I think business is fine. You could easily drop it and then do 3 of the hard ones bio chem and maths in year 13.

I think you're going to have to knuckle down with your maths as Imperial will want A.

Yes, by all means go for it, but be prepared to work extremely hard as you'll need top grades. Good luck :h:
