Let u=x2u = x^2, so your equation becomes 2u2+14u+24=02u^2 + 14u + 24 = 0, and see if you can use that to solve for uu and find xx. Have you learnt that method in class?

Because u2=(x2)2=x4u^2 = (x^2)^2 = x^4.

Edit: Just saw your message :P do you understand how to find xx now?
