for maths the best are COWI so cambridge, oxford, imperial. Then normally comes the likes of ucl, durham etc.. I would say Exeter is good but definatly not the best.

Which unis would you say it's on par with?I would say on par with Nottingham, York, Bath... Those sort of universities? For mathematics there they are closely linked with the Met Office so if Climate Science is your thing then they will be very good for that.
