People are comparing this year with that but musically there isn't much ... disco was in full flow, Stadium, and Glam rock were getting going. You ddin't need personal stereo, everyone had battery powered ghetto blasters or at least a rather tinnie "trannie" (transister radio), or the in-car system playing with the windows down for air-con.
