Have you posted on the Sheffield Hallam sub forum?
Have you asked accommodation if they have arranged any meet up days where potential housemates can meet each other or taken suggestions of where you can advertise?
Most freshers I think will be going into uni accomm.
I wouldnt worry though Sheffield has a good supply of reasonably priced accommodation.
