Is it true that:
-x^2 = -y or y
(-x)^2=y or -y

x and y are any numbers
you need more info, if they can be any numbers then no..

is -5 squared -25 or 25
or (-5) squared = 25 or -25 *brackets
(-5)2 = 25

-(5)2 = -25

Yes because of the brackets, you would square it first, then apply the negative.
