What is the nth term for
7, 5 , 2 , 1
16, 13 , 10 , 7
to get the nth term, you have to find out the difference between the numbers in the sequence (so -3 in this case)

and then you have to try to get all the numbers in the sequence by forming a formula including the -3n

Is the first sequence
7,5,3,1
otherwise I can't easily see a simple formula. What have you tried to write down a formula? The second is a relatively simple linear or arithmetic progression.
