how to find specialised sources of info in history?

do you ever read something that makes ur mind function in an entirely different format? Thats what I'm aiming to find in books/sources
Completely controversial ideas, contrary or more insightful than the mainstream.

e.g
on Martin Luther's spread of idea, i read that he obviously tried to distrubute his ideas with tons of different methods...
one was woodcutting- most of these were anti-church, not luther's 95thesis'
- this shows that although only 5% of the population was literate, the fact that they were anti-church woodcuts created doubts in people's minds; which in turn created a religious vacuum, which Luther, or more radical reformists could influence....

Its like hypothesis' almost

Another idea is that Trump's policies in the next 2yrs will be extremely right wing, as to force the democrats to vote in a more hardline left-wing candidate, to then make democrats less popular and unappealing to the mainstream voters....

etc etc..... anyways all these ideas are concepts that amaze me, its like they hit a light-bulb moment in ur brain, but Idk where to find more of these amazing ideas (ideallylinked w my alevels: politics, history and philosophy)?
Sorry you've not had any responses about this. :frown: Are you sure you've posted in the right place? Here's a link to our subject forum which should help get you more responses if you post there.
