I had that one this afternoon!!!

One minor complication was the fact I had every bit of equipment in my pocket and I put a chocolate bar in there for later, too. I put my things on the desk, only to find they were covered in melted chocolate. Arrrgh :s-smilie:

Well as for the actual exam, it was pretty easy in my opinion - And Maths isn't exactly a specialist subject of mine. Everything I didn't want to come up - didn't come up. I answered all of them fine  except for the factorizing. I can't do it no matter how hard I try.

But in general I found it fine! How did you and everyone else find it

lmao

A good paper, but how do you factories x^2 + 4 ? Never understood that and as usual got stuck on trapezium rule!! And last question was hard too!

I got stuck on x^2 - 4 for like, half an hour! And then I realized what it was when a light went on in my head..it was (2x+2)(2x-2) ...it makes 4x^2 and -4 if you see

I didn't know anything about the trapezium rule before the morning exam and then a teacher told me the formula was (h1+h2)(h2+h3)(h3+h4) all divided by the width (gap between numbers at the bottom of the graph) over 2. the sum of the h's were 44 and the width was 1, making 44/2 and giving the answer of 22cm^2. Sorry, that was poorly explained but I'm no expert

The last question though. Oh it was hard.

Really, that's what i put in the end

About the trapezium rule i got 22.25 :s-smilie: lol

Trapezium rule i had 22 :P
but for that question at the end i factorised using the quadratic formula and just dont know why pmsl, feel like such a clown for doing so :|
oh well hey!!

The sine/cosine question about the quadrilateral was pants too! i added the 1/2absinC values instead of taking away the little from the big triangle :frown:
should get 1 mark out of 3 though...i hope

pmsl but all in all it was okay, just badly worded

The answer for the last one would be right if you put the height of the small cone as 3cm
The entire height would be 15 cm. And you go from there.

Overall the exam was easy/medium except the paralelogram thingy (I NEED A FRIGGIN DIAGRAM DAMNIT!) and 8^P thing. They pissed me off the most.

In this paper I think I got at least 80%
