Can anyone help answer this question please

how you could distinguish between benzophenone and diphenylmethanol using infrared (IR) spectroscopy.

Can anyone give me the correct answer for this please
The two compounds would give off different peaks based on the functional groups they have.

What about this question please

The NMR spectra for benzophenone and diphenylmethanol are shown In the figures 1 and 2). Assign each spectrum to the correct compound, and explain your reasoning.

Figure 2 is the alcohol based compound, shown by two singlets. One singlet (approx. 6ppm) is the alcohol as it is down shielded due to O. Singlet approx. 2.4ppm is the hydrogen on the same carbon as the alcohol.

Figure 1 is the ketone based compound. Only aromatic peaks in 7 - 8 ppm.
