Here is a formula for the amount of water needed to cook rice.
W= 1.5r + 0.5
W is the number of cups of water needed
r is the number of cups of rice to be cooked
(A) how many cups of water are needed to cook 11 cups of rice?
(B) how many cups of rice can be cooked with 29 cups of water?
So w =water.
1 cup of water is equal to 1.5 times the volume of rice +0.5
so it'd be (11x1.5) + 0.5 for part A and for part B so you'd need to rearrange the equation which i'm not confident on .

W= (1.5 x11)+0.5
W=17

29=(1.5 x r) + 0.5
28.5=1.5r
19= r
