If you were to reform GCSEs, what changes would you make?

I would add a wider range of texts for English Litature. Add in some more modern texts and bring back texts from other countries rather than making them be from UK authors.

In my school we sat our English language exam early ( so in year 10), I wish I put more work into my strengths within it, rather than abandoning them and only working on my weaknesses.

make sure all gcses must be taken in year 11 and not early (y9,y10), also add coursework

Imo we should move to a more US style grading system where you don't really have a series of individual grades but rather a comprehensive average/points system as representation of your overall academic performance

I would add more coursework aspects so they can be representative of your overall progress performance and commitment and still have the exam part so you can be tested on the skills you have to do when you do an exam
