The Student Room Group

Any point to grammar schools?

1. Separating young children (age 11) based on academic ability/intellect BAD
2. Kids' confidence levels drop BAD
3. Is it even the school or the competitive environment there that results in the student's "good" grades GOOD/BAD
4. So are parents under a unknowingly wrong pretence that the teaching is good BAD
5. So, are grammar schools gaining credit for the grades their students achieve "falsely" as its really the students who put the work in?

THIS IS A DEBATE, NOT A RANT

If it's not a rant, why are you talking to us in capitals? I think you've probably answered your own questions here.
