Hi I'm doing American century 1890-1990 for the exam board WJEC. I got an essay to do on "To what extent was the Truman Doctrine the most significant turning point in the foreign policy of the USA in the period 1890-1990?"
The alternative factors I decided on talking about is America's entry into the first world war, Cuban missile crisis and détente with the changing relationships between USA and USSR. I have an idea why these are turning points but I don't know how exactly to phrase them and comparing them to the Truman doctrine.
