I'm pretty sure its just a small sort of organelle that stores products of photosynthesis in plants? Not necessarily a plural of starch? Not an expert myself though

No, clearly. A starch grain is 'just a small sort of organelle'... :K:

You should know about the structure of amylose and amylopectin and how these polysaccharides form starch. A 'grain' of starch is just that - a collection of starch molecules.
