Do I need to pass English lit and Lang?

My GCSEs exams are next week and I'm just looking at a level courses and the requirements. But it just says grade 5 in English for example. Which English are they talking about? Do I need to pass both? I'm so much better at lit and I'm literally failing Lang at the moment.

Usually lang but I'd ask the school. If it helps I was horrible at language and got 1 grade higher than literature in my exams

Unfortunately Lang is the important one.

Lit only matters if you're taking A Level English Lit, but even then you still need to have passed Lang as well.
