Japanese at Durham?

Hi, I've been offered a place at Durham, Edinburgh, Leeds and Sheffield to study Japanese BA, but I have heard many things against Durham for Japanese. That said, those things mainly state that it is a new course so it should be ignored for now. Everything I can find about the course is a few years old now, so I wondered if it had progressed beyond its initial drawbacks? Thanks
