Does it matter if the lone pair goes at the top or bottom here? like can I put the lone pair at the line at the top and move that line down instead like in the image?

Hi! It doesn’t matter at all because if you imagine the structure, if a bond were to be made with the lone pair, it could bond in any direction as the electrons are always moving, so there is no way of determining where the lone pairs are!

Placement only matters when you actually use the lone pairs to bond with something!
