IAL Edexcel M2 Jan 2018 Question 4 (c)

I can't figure out why we need to include the lower limit,can someone please explain to me

What have you tried? Assuming you have done / the ms / ... from part a) you have
v = u(1+4e)/3
w = u(1-8e)/3
for e>1/8, w is negative so the direction is reversed. When e=3/4 you have
v = 4u/3
w = -5u/3
Putting the extra restitution "f" for Q ... will they collide again ...

What do you think is happening when Q rebounds off the wall and hits P again? Think about the relative velocity. Doing a sketch would be helpful for this and the other part.

Note its worth reading the posting guidelines sticky at the top of the forum about posting some form of attempt and including all info in the original post.
