A level Chemistry help

Many reaction used acid, how do I know which should I use
e.g. K3[Fe(C2O4)3].3H2O + excess acid and titrate with KMnO4
Thanks

In redox reactions you need an acid that provides hydrogen ions (strong acid), but is otherwise unreactive:

Nitric acid can behave as an oxidising agent = no good

Hydrochloric acid can be oxidised = no good

Sulfuric acid = strong acid, but very difficult to reduce, i.e. unreactive = good
