is a transcription factor a type of receptor?
I'm not quite sure what you mean by "type of receptor". A transcription factor is a protein that has a receptor which molecules like oestrogen bind to (activating it), they also have a binding site which is complementary to the piece of dna they're transcribing. So yes they have receptors. Hope this helped

I was thinking in terms of answering an essay title on 'receptors and their importance' or something
Thank you for the help!
