University of Lincoln Clearing 2023

Hello everyone and welcome to the University of Lincoln Clearing thread for 2023!

Clearing 2023 is now open, so we have started this thread to give you more information about what Clearing is and what is involved. It is important to remember that you can ask any questions you need answering we are here to support you!

What is Clearing?
Clearing is the process universities use to allocate remaining places on their undergraduate courses ahead of the new academic year. It's a great way to find the ideal course for you if you are not holding any university offers.

When does Clearing open?
Clearing is now open and runs until 17 October 2023. The busiest day for Clearing is A Level Results Day, which this year is on Thursday 17 August 2023, because this is when many university applicants find out if they have met the conditions of their firm or insurance choices of university place.

You can apply for Clearing if you:
- didn’t get into your firm or insurance university choices,
- didn’t get any offers when you first applied,
- don’t want the places you have been offered and want to self-release into Clearing,
- were unsure about university during the first round of applications and didn’t apply.

If you get better grades than predicted, you may be able to use Clearing to get a place on a different course at a university with higher entry requirements.
