Is there a way to copyright my business name

So I'm running a few social media brands and want to register each brand as a LTD business as I intend to make money of promos, merchandise sales and sponsorships. Is there a way to copyright my brand name which will be my company name for each brand each United LTD so that no one else can set up a business using my brands /businesses name?

Do you mean register a trademark?

Copyright is automatically applied to any original work you produce (CANNOT have been copied from somewhere, even sampling produces clashes). See here for details: https://www.gov.uk/copyright.

To register a trademark, you have to make sure no clashes already exist, follow the rules, and pay the Government a lot of money. See here for details: https://www.gov.uk/how-to-register-a-trade-mark.

Honestly, I'd say don't bother because what serious player would want to copy your business. When it makes serious money (which I kinda doubt will happen, sorry), then register a trademark. Before that point, it's all about making sure your service is superior to the competition and getting customers.

All the best.

Oh, and don't forget to register with Companies' House if it's a legit business too.
