My teachers are finishing content mid April - my first exam is second week of May 😭 If you're worried practice older content now to be perfect at it with small time slots to practice what you are currently learning and then just grind past papers

Hey everyone, I'm trying to gather together all the best online maths revision resources in one place here - come along and comment to let others know what you recommend
Has anyone got any tips for mechanics exam questions? In class, I fully understand the content but when it comes to exam questions, they seem really complicated and the wording throws me off.

It really depends on which question wording/part youre not understanding. Usually the best thing to do is post a question youre not sure about and work it through. Once youve done 2 or 3 of that type, the wording/approach should be reasonably clear.

Hi, I'm doing Edexcel IAL.

I'm fine with Pure 1 and Mechanics but Pure 2 is genuinely the bane of my existence. If anyone knows of any resources or tips on it, I'd really appreciate it. I'm aiming for an A so I really need to not have P2 drop my mark.

Thanks.

i’m currently in yr12 taking a level maths - after an end of topic test & finding out i was on the verge of a fail i feel like i’ve lost a lot of confidence in maths. does anyone have any tips on how to improve? any good methods for revising, getting used to the content etc..? rlly need to get my grade up as i have no other subjects to switch maths with !!!

Solve as many past papers as you can and always look at the marking scheme, it's not just about getting the right answer, it's about HOW you got it. Also, if you get stuck, you can always refer to the marking scheme for guidelines.
Good luck,

Hey, can anyone help. Not sure if it's because I'm tired but the answer for 7c. isn't making sense to me. I don't understand where they got the points (3, 1.25) and (4, 1.40) from

hi there,
just draw a diagram to see what's going on, especially during pulley questions, by drawing a pulley, then label what's going up and down, so it is a lot easier for you to answer the question.

:hello: Welcome to the A-level Mathematics Study Group! :hello:

This is where you can chat with other students studying the same subjects as you and support each other as you head towards your exams :grouphugs:
You can post any useful tips and resources that you come across, offer support to others, share your successes, or just have moan when it gets tough!
Just remember, it’s against the site rules to ask for or offer any copyrighted papers, or to take conversations off-site to do these things. Posts that break these rules will be removed.
A few possible ice breaker questions are:
What exam board are you with?
What do you enjoy most about this subject/ course?
What area do you struggle with in this subject/ course?
Good luck with the next few months. Remember, ask for help, support where you can and together we can do this! :yeah:

1: A levels British council
2: I don’t like maths chose it to pursue my degree in CS
3: just started Maths and want to Ace it

Hello! I completely get that - Mathematics can be really challenging. If you don't mind me asking, (as I saw this post was recent) are you doing any current revision now for Year 13? If so, this puts you in a really good position for A-Level maths [year 2]. I am going to start Year 12 soon [september 2024] and, although this may seem strange, I've covered the maths syllabi for Year 1 and Year 2 because I do national maths competitions and I have a love for maths.

Key points:

Use Maths Genie to revise - Their videos are so helpful.

Use SaveMyExams - This option is a bit meh but sometimes the content and questions provided can be useful.

Obviously utilise the past papers on exam board websites.
