One example quite early on in the book, which is mainly where the focus is on because she acts very naive, is when she calls her parents "Mummy" and "Daddy" whereas Eric calls them "Mother" and "Father". People might do it now but in those days it was almost halfway between childish and posh. Also, in the stage directions at the very start, it says she was "very pleased with life and rather excited" which could show some naivety, and a sheltered lifestyle. Also the fact that in the first few pages she always has quite a jokey, carefree manner could suggest this.
