I don't like suvat equations, can I sketch graphs instead?

The suvat equations just seem so random when I don't sketch a graph. Should I suck it up and go with the way I'm taught or can I do little velocity time graphs instead? (A level physics, first year, OCR A, will be doing mechanics in maths in the future)

I'd say learn them - though it's IMO a good habit to be thinking about how the suvat equations relating to gradients and to areas under the graph.

e.g. s=ut + 1/2 at^2 is the same as finding the area under a vt graph as a horizontal rectangular strip (ut) plus a triangle using 1/2 base times height
(base is t
height is at)
