Oxford history written work

Hello,

I am applying for History and Politics at Oxford. I know that I have to submit a written work, but I have received no information about how to do that submission. How and when do I submit the written work?

Thanks

Magdalen for me haha
Best to send in coursework, preferably something marked and graded by a teacher.

Is it okay if it’s timed? We’ve only done timed 45 minute essays in my curriculum.
Yep that should be okay provided it doesn't look hurried and contain too many spelling mistakes etc.

is it alright if it's not timed? I didn't write mine in timed conditions and it's at 1.9k characters which is below the limit but much more than anything i'd be able to write in timed conditions; is this a problem?
check out this useful webpage at Oxf Uni https://www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/undergraduate/applying-to-oxford/guide/written-work.

The work you send in must be original and ideally have been produced during the course of your school or college work, marked by a teacher and not re-written or corrected in any way.

How strict is this? Because someone I know who applied last year said that his teacher told him to rewrite an essay for the application because that’s what most of the private school kids do?

Obv there's no way for the colleges to know whether an essay has been re-written. It's just down to your own honesty. There's also no way of knowing whether private school kids do this. With regards to the application process it's just one part of many.

My college said the deadline is 23:59 on the 10th of November. I guess yours is the same but the email you got from your college acknowledging your application should say.
