Would I still have a chance at Oxbridge for maths without maths challenges

I’m considering Oxbridge for maths however unfortunately I have never done a maths Olympiad before and I’ve never done very well in any maths challenges. I never realised the importance so in the senior maths challenge last year I didn’t really try and only got bronze. I’m in year 12 and I’m worried it will affect my chances as everyone always mentions maths challenges in their personal statements but I don’t think I can as I haven’t done well enough :frown:

They're not important or required. Towards the end of Year 12 you should be comparing yourself against STEP or MAT questions though (after some practice).

Oxford maths don’t even read your personal statement, you’ll be fine. Just prepare for the MAT enough and make sure your personal statement is decent.
