Should I retake English language?
Hi I’ve been thinking about retaking my English Language GCSE.  I was predicted a 6 but ended up getting 4. To be honest I don’t know what happened, I answered all the questions the way I was taught to at school. The fingers I want to apply to Russell group universities and Oxbridge,  and they typically want at least 6. in English language so I’m not sure if it’s worth me taking or if I get high A-level grades they won’t mind because the rest of my GCSE grades were 7/8’s
They will mind. GCSEs aren't as important in university applications as most people think, however you definitely want to have achieved a 6 in English and Maths. It's often (to not say always) the one and only GCSE requirement for universities, if they have GCSE requirements, so you should retake English!
