If you are an off campus/commmuting student (not living on campus accommodation) living more than a mile away you can apply for a permit. There are also special circumstances in which you can apply for a permit if you live within the 1 mile boundary. The car parking policy is on the website.
There are many car parks in the town and road parking around also. Best thing is to get train into ormskirk then either walk or get the free link bus using your student ID which drops you in middle of campus.
