Agar disk diffusion method question - University assignment
I’m wanting to test Aloe Vera to see if it has antifungal properties against a fungus.
I’m making different concentrations of Aloe Vera (AV) to make sure I (hopefully) get a positive result.
I’ll be using agar disc diffusion method. I’ll be using those watman paper discs to absorb the AV solution and place them onto the fungus agar.
Questions -
1. What is the procedure for soaking the AV solution into the discs?
Could I just use sterile forceps and dip the paper into the solution, leave for a minute to absorb?
2. Let discs dry or just get remaining drips off before plating it?
Any help is appreciated
