AS English

Hi - just to preface my schools makes us do 4 A levels for the 1st year then drop one and continue with 3 if we choose.
I currently do English, History, Bio and Chem and I was considering, instead of just dropping English literature, to do it as an AS so that I can at least gain something from it. My teacher seems to advise against it but I can't tell if its cos its hard or if she just wants me to continue the course.

If anyone has previous experience in AS English or something of the sort, could you please advise me? Is it worth it?
