Classroom experience before a PGCE

I am considering doing a PGCE next year as I am moving back to the UK and looking to change professions. I am currently working in a school but have a senior non teaching role that primarily focuses on pastoral care and safeguarding. Should I try to get some classroom experience before applying for a PGCE?
I think Any experience would be worthwhile to help you really decide if that’s what you wanna do as well

With your portfolio you should like you'd be an ideal candidate for PGCE training (they'll always ask about safeguarding in interview).

However, to truly know if you want to teach I strongly recommend getting some work as a TA
