Aston university Mpharm experience 2024

Hi, I have an offer from Aston university to study pharmacy.
Can anyone who has previously studied/ is currently studying pharmacy tell me their experience.
How are placements ? - how often is it ?
How’s uni life in general.
Is it mainly hospital or community based ?
Thanks

I'd recommend that you go an offer-holder day where you'll be able to ask staff and students these questions. Congrats on the offer

So do I. Does anyone know if aston has a low acceptance rate for Pharmacy or is it quite easy to get an offer?

Hey I've just finished first year.My experience has been great, the lecturers are amazing there's alumni from oxford, cardiff UoB etc. They're very supportive and reasonable. In first year you have 3 placements, a day in community in first term and in second term a day in the hospital. At the end of first year there's 4 week block placement in a community pharmacy. There are more opportunities for hospital placement in the other years.I'd say its a great option, course has changed so everyone now graduating are all Independent Prescribers therefore degree has become very very hard.

It's not hard to get into if you meet the grades, its hard to get in via clearance. If they have extra space they normally just accept people who applied but missed the grades. I missed the grade by one and they still let me in
