How to get into Pharmacy?

I was wondering if i need work experience to do an undergraduate pharmacy degree at university. I was also wondering what unis could take me in for it with my current subjects, as they are not ideal for applying to the degree. i take Btec applied science, English literature and psychology. I know that Wolverhampton uni has an undergraduate course for pharmacy that would enable to take pharmacy with those subjects but does anyone know any others as well? I don’t mind taking a foundation year.

No, it's not strictly a requirement. Nowhere in the entry requirements of any course page for MPHarm degrees do they say that you specifically need work experience in order to be eligible for the course. However, the course is so competitive that it's strongly recommended that you do to boost your chances of getting in.

I was also wondering what unis could take me in for it with my current subjects, as they are not ideal for applying to the degree.
As you're intending to do MPharm, the degree needs to be accredited by GPhC in order to get into the field. Their list of approved degrees is on the following page: https://www.pharmacyregulation.org/education/approved-providers-education-and-training/accredited-mpharm-degrees
This limits the search you need to do and the number of universities that you can refer to.

i take Btec applied science, English literature and psychology.
What's the full title of your BTEC? Is it an Extended Diploma, National Diploma, National Extended Certificate, 90 Credit Diploma, or National Foundation Diploma? Sorry, I am not that familiar with the Applied Science BTEC and whether it's specifically only available as an extended diploma (equivalent of 3 A Levels).
If you want me to help your search with the above, let me know about your BTEC and I should be able to help.
Hi, you might need to be creative with work experience. Not many pharmacies take work experience placements and hospitals like over 18s. Have a think about what else you can do to show experience of working with people/ in the community if you're struggling. But i do know that Universities don't insist on pharmacy experience.

Hi, thank you for your help! I take btec applied science extended diploma

Then your options are pretty flexible. See the following:
https://www.aston.ac.uk/study/courses/pharmacy-mpharm/september-2024
https://www.bradford.ac.uk/courses/ug/pharmacy-mpharm/?att=ft#nav-course-entry (foundation year available, although you don't need it)
https://www.brighton.ac.uk/courses/study/pharmacy-mpharm-with-preparatory-year.aspx
https://www.uea.ac.uk/course/undergraduate/mpharm-pharmacy#entry_requirements (foundation year available, although you don't need it)
https://www.herts.ac.uk/courses/undergraduate/pharmacy (borderline)
https://courses.hud.ac.uk/2019-20/full-time/undergraduate/pharmacy-mpharm#_ga=2.227202910.279541835.1544439817-1745381991.1544439817
https://www.keele.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/undergraduatecourses/pharmacy/#ug-ent-req-optionB (foundation year available, although you don't need it)
https://www.lincoln.ac.uk/course/phrphrum/ (foundation year available, although you don't need it)
https://msp.ac.uk/undergraduate/?course_id=18&course_level=undergraduate (foundation year available, although you don't need it; not sure if the foundation year course is accredited)
https://www.manchester.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/courses/2024/07958/mpharm-pharmacy-with-a-foundation-year/entry-requirements/#alternative-entry-requirements (MPharm with foundation year only)
https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/studywithus/ugstudy/courses/UG/Pharmacy-MPharm-U7UPHRCY.html (borderline; integrated foundation training available)
https://www.port.ac.uk/study/courses/undergraduate/mpharm-hons-pharmacy#entry-requirements%E2%80%8B
https://www.reading.ac.uk/ready-to-study/study/subject-area/pharmacy-ug/mpharm-pharmacy (foundation year available, although you won't need it)
https://www.sunderland.ac.uk/study/pharmacy-pharmaceutical-and-cosmetic-sciences/undergraduate-pharmacy/#fees-and-reqs
https://www.swansea.ac.uk/undergraduate/courses/medicine/pharmacy-mpharm-hons/#entry-requirements=is-expanded
https://www.ulster.ac.uk/courses/202425/pharmacy-33503#entryconditions (foundation year is available, although you won't need it)

And of course, you have Wolverhampton:
https://www.wlv.ac.uk/courses/mpharm-hons-pharmacy/

Do note, I have a hard time finding out whether some of the Scottish universities would accept the BTEC, so you would need to check with them yourself.

I would read through the entry requirements and look at the conditions for BTEC Extended Diploma to check. If you need to contact the uni to check on specific details, you can contact their School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (or whatever the equivalent is); you would specifically be looking for the admissions staff/administer for the undergrad courses (or the closest person to that).

I’m so sorry for the confusion, i actually take the extended certificate. I think this narrows down my chances. I wasn’t aware, but thank you for you help.
